The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) took birth as National Tissue Culture Facility in March 11, 1986 with a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas etc.  The centre is located in the midst of academically enriched environment of University of Pune campus, Pune.

SIT has been set-up under the aegis of St. Joan's Education Society and has been recognized by All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi. Postdoctoral fellow positions are available to study ion channels, synaptic transmission and plasticity in pain and cardiovascular control.

Qualification Required : Candidates should have broad trainingin ion channel physiology, genetics, electrophysiology, biochemistry,epigenetic and transcriptional control, and neuroscience.Ongoing studies include mechanisms of pain, opioid analgesia, pharmacology of G protein-couplde receptors, and cardiovascular regulation.
