About the Institute

The Department of Biotechnology actively conducts advanced research in molecular biology, bioinformatics, industrial biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, and life sciences.
- Position Title: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
- Number of Positions: One
- Project Title: Sustainable bioproduction of Nitrilase using unicellular Cyanobacterial species and in vivo and in silico enzyme characterization.
- PI:Prof. Anbumathi P
- Co-PI: Prof. Thygeshwar Chandran
- Duration: Two years or till closure of the project, whichever is earlier. Performance evaluation will be done each year.
- Age Limit: 30 years (Upper age relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically challenged candidates.)
Job Nature
Cyanobacterial Culturing, Strain Maintenance, Bioprocess Optimization, Design of Experiments, Sustainable Bioproduction, Enzyme Extraction and Purification, Enzyme Assays and Kinetics, In Silico Analysis & Kinetic Modelling, Interpreting results and preparing reports.
Essential Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Biotechnology/Industrial Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Biosciences and Bioengineering or related fields AND M.E./M.Tech./M.S. (by Research)/M.S. from abroad (two-year program only) in the same or related fields with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL category, and a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD category.
- OR B.E./B.Tech in the same fields with a valid GATE score and at least CGPA of 7.0/10 or 65% of marks under GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL category, and at least CGPA of 6.5/10 or 60% for SC/ST/PwD category.
- OR M.Sc in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Botany/Zoology/Bioinformatics/Life Sciences or related fields AND M.Tech in the same or related fields with the same aggregate marks criteria as above.
- Desirable: GATE/CSIR-UGC NET qualification will be given preference.
Emoluments: Rs. 37,000/- pm for two years. HRA as per institute rules.
Other Benefits: The selected candidate is eligible to register for a Ph.D. degree at NIT Warangal as per institute rules.
