Job Description

The Facility Assistant will coordinate and participate in the daily operations of the mouse genome engineering facility, which includes transgenic and cryopreservation services. Responsibilities include performing pronuclear microinjection, blastocyst injections, embryo transfers, and survival surgeries, as well as managing animal husbandry and colony management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily operations of the MGEF.
  • Perform microinjection and embryo transfer procedures.
  • Conduct electroporation of CRISPR gene editing reagents.
  • Manage cell culture and gene-targeted mouse ES cells.
  • Oversee sperm and embryo collection and cryopreservation.
  • Maintain accurate records as per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Communicate project status and results with clients.
  • Monitor post-surgical animal care and management.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Master’s degree in biological sciences, BE, B.Tech, or M.Pharma from a recognised University/Institute with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • Excellent organisational and recordkeeping skills.

Required Skills

  • 2 years of experience in handling laboratory mice/rats.
  • Knowledge/experience in sperm and embryo handling.
  • Ability to manage data and communicate effectively.
