Role Overview
The Senior Research Fellow (SRF) will be engaged in advanced research activities focused on genome editing to enhance climate resilience and food security. The role involves hands-on laboratory work, development of genome-edited lines, and application of modern biotechnology tools in agricultural research.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform genome editing experiments and related laboratory work
- Develop and evaluate genome-edited plant lines
- Conduct genotyping and molecular analysis
- Support research activities aligned with project objectives

Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualification:
- M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Bioinformatics / Agricultural Science with a 4–5 year Bachelor’s degree
OR - M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Botany / Life Sciences with a 3-year Bachelor’s + 2-year Master’s degree, along with:
- NET/GATE qualification
- Minimum 2 years of research experience
Desirable Qualification
- Knowledge or experience in:
- Tissue culture
- Genome editing
- Genotyping techniques
Compensation
- ₹37,000 per month + HRA (1st & 2nd year)
- ₹42,000 per month + HRA (3rd year)
Age Limit
- Maximum 35 years for men
- Maximum 40 years for women
- Age relaxation applicable as per Government norms
Project Duration: Up to September 30, 2026, or until project completion (whichever is earlier)
