Role Overview
The Senior Scientist – Assay Biologist at Syngene International is responsible for supporting bioassays and in vitro research activities that are critical to client projects. The role involves designing and executing functional bioassays, evaluating in vitro anti-tumor efficacy, maintaining high standards of data integrity, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality scientific outcomes within project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Bioassay Execution and Analysis
- Performs functional bioassays, including ELISA and cell-based assays such as Inhibition of Proliferation (IOP) and Antibody-Dependent Cellular Cytotoxicity (ADCC) assays.
- Executes experiments from initiation to completion, including data generation, documentation, analysis, and compilation of results.
- Reviews experimental data to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with established protocols.
- Prepares and drafts scientific study reports and technical documentation.
In Vitro Anti-Tumor Efficacy Evaluation
- Conducts studies to evaluate anti-tumor activity across multiple tumor cell lines and therapeutic indications.
- Utilizes advanced laboratory techniques, including:
- ELISA, Luminex, and Cytometric Bead Array (CBA) platforms for cytokine analysis.
- Flow cytometry.
- Cell proliferation and cytotoxicity assays.
- Two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) co-culture models.
Compliance and Data Integrity
- Ensures adherence to organizational safety, quality, and Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) standards.
- Maintains accurate and compliant laboratory documentation by following ALCOA+ data integrity principles.
- Records experimental data using Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELNs) and complies with regulatory and quality requirements.
Laboratory Operations
- Supports routine laboratory operations, including mammalian cell culture and general laboratory maintenance.
- Contributes to the efficient functioning of laboratory activities while maintaining scientific and operational excellence.
Safety and Quality Responsibilities
- Adheres to Syngene’s safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality standards.
- Promotes a culture of safety, operational discipline, and environmental responsibility within the workplace.
- Ensures completion of mandatory training related to health, safety, environmental compliance, and data integrity.
- Supports the development and implementation of safe laboratory practices and compliance procedures.
- Takes accountability for achieving individual and team safety goals and participates in the review of safety performance metrics.
