About the Project

Bose Institute invites applications from Indian citizens for the temporary position of Project Associate-II (PA-II) under the ANRF-ARG sponsored project titled:

“Discovery of a Protein Kinase Moonlighting to Promote De Novo Nucleosome Assembly and Its Implication in Chromatin Organization.”

The project will be carried out under the supervision of Dr. Smarajit Polley, Associate Professor, Department of Biological Sciences.

The appointment will initially be for one year and may be extended based on satisfactory performance and availability of project funds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in research activities related to the ANRF-ARG sponsored project.
  • Carry out experimental work under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.
  • Contribute to project-related research and laboratory activities.
  • Maintain research records and assist in achieving project objectives.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should possess any one of the following qualifications:

  • Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Sciences or Agricultural Sciences; or
  • Master’s Degree in Natural Sciences or Agricultural Sciences

from a recognized University or equivalent.

Additionally, candidates should have:

  • Two years of experience in Research and Development (R&D) in Industrial or Academic Institutions, Science and Technology Organizations, or Scientific Activities and Services.

Desirable Qualification

Candidates having experience or familiarity with the following will be preferred:

  • Recombinant DNA technology
  • Protein expression and purification
  • Basic UV-Visible spectroscopy techniques
  • Fluorescence spectroscopy techniques

Age Limit

  • Maximum 35 years.
  • Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per Government of India rules.

Monthly Emoluments

For candidates selected through:

  • CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship), or
  • GATE, or
  • National-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments, Agencies, or Institutions
  • Salary: ₹42,000 per month + HRA
  • For all other eligible candidates:
    • Salary: ₹33,000 per month + HRA
