Project Overview
The position is part of a multi-institutional collaborative research project between the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), Chennai, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), and the University of Hyderabad.
Project Title:
Haplotype Based Validation of the Role of a Lectin Gene (SalT) Operational at the Interface of Abiotic (Salinity) and Biotic (Blast Disease) Stress Resistance Through In-Planta as Well as Ex-Planta Strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic molecular biology and cloning techniques.
- Carry out rice transformation and greenhouse-based evaluation.
- Perform E. coli protein overexpression experiments.
- Conduct data analysis.
- Contribute to scientific writing and publication of research findings.
Educational Qualification
Candidates should possess:
- PhD in Agricultural Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Plant Sciences, or related fields.
- Minimum 60% aggregate marks during post-graduation.
Experience
Candidates should have:
- Ability to work independently in a collaborative, multi-laboratory environment.
- Strong scientific writing and presentation skills.
- Hands-on experience in:
- Basic molecular biology and cloning techniques.
- Rice transformation and greenhouse-based evaluation.
- E. coli protein overexpression.
- At least one peer-reviewed research publication in a relevant area published in a Q1 journal with significant impact factor.
Age Limit
