  • Position Title: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Project Title: Potential of antimicrobial peptide producing Bacillus spp. against tomato leaf curl virus infection in chilli: Investigations on the suppression of symptom expression and vector transmission efficiency
  • Principal Investigator: Dr. Vinod Kumar S
  • Funding Body: Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)
  • Project Duration: 3 years
  • Age Limit: The upper age limit is 28 Years (relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/Physically challenged/Female candidates and 3 years for OBC-NCL candidates).

Role & Responsibilities

Assist in routine laboratory work (microbe culturing & rearing of whitefly), molecular biology experiments, field evaluation, data analysis, and maintenance of project records.

Essential Qualifications

  • M.Sc. (Agriculture) in Plant Pathology/Mycology and Plant Pathology/Microbiology/Plant Sciences.
  • Applicants must have qualified CSIR-UGC NET/ICAR-ASRB NET/GATE.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference for candidates with prior experience with plant viruses and plant insect vectors.

Fellowship

Rs. 37,000/- per month + 20% HRA for the first two years (JRF) and Rs. 42,000/- per month + 20% HRA for the third year (SRF), as per norms.
