Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage biosafety programmes across the Discovery Biology facility.
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments across laboratories and vivarium facility.
- Ensure compliance with IBSC regulations and perform biosafety assessments for new biological projects.
- Integrate EHS requirements into experimental design and operational workflows.
- Support EHS inputs for business cases, expansion projects, and new initiatives.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, transport, and disposal of biological materials.
- Develop and deliver training programs, and conduct induction programs for new employees.
- Conduct audits and inspections, monitor laboratory practices, engineering controls, and PPE usage.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee decontamination processes, biomedical waste management, and animal biosafety practices.
Education
- Full-time B.Sc./B.Tech. in biology or related field.
- Full time M.Sc./M.Tech. in Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular biology.
Experience
- Hands-on research experience in relevant biological research domains such as molecular biology, microbiology, etc.
- Preferred Certifications: PG Diploma in Industrial Safety / Biosafety, NEBOSH, CSP or equivalent.
