Project Overview – AROMA Study

The AROMA Study, led in collaboration with AIIMS and The George Institute, focuses on reducing premature Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) risk in India. The study aims to design culturally relevant, anti-inflammatory dietary plans based on Mediterranean principles.

The project includes:

  • Development of region-specific dietary plans with low Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII)
  • Literature reviews, surveys, and creation of validated Food Frequency Questionnaires (FFQs)
  • Participant recruitment and evaluation through biomarkers, anthropometry, and behavioral tools
  • Focus on improving cardiovascular health through sustainable dietary interventions

Role Overview

The Research Fellow (equivalent to Project Research Scientist III under ICMR) will provide technical and administrative support for the successful implementation of the AROMA Study. The role involves coordination across multiple study sites, development of nutrition protocols, and ensuring adherence to research standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Manual of Procedures (MOP) for the nutrition component of the trial
  • Coordinate with five study sites and the central coordinating team (AIIMS) for diet plan development
  • Conduct site visits for training, monitoring, and supervision
  • Ensure adherence to study protocols and timely completion of deliverables
  • Supervise nutrition teams across study locations
  • Contribute to project reports and scientific documentation
  • Perform additional project-related tasks as assigned

  • Participate in team meetings and departmental initiatives
  • Contribute to process improvements and organizational development projects
  • Maintain high ethical standards and adhere to institutional policies
  • Engage with global teams and stakeholders across time zones
  • Ensure compliance with research ethics, SOPs, and safety guidelines
  • Promote a safe and collaborative working environment

Eligibility Criteria

  • Master’s degree in Foods and Nutrition
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience
