Key Responsibilities
- Manage designated team, plant, and material (resources) in a culture of performance monitoring, review, and actions to ensure full compliance with Nestlé standards, a requirement often sought after in leading Food Technology Jobs.
- Generate and issue instructions to the factory shop floor and facilitate the execution of production instructions by allocating appropriate resources.
- Cascade and execute production plans and adjust operational activities by situation assessment according to available information and resources for optimum production performance.
- Plan, coordinate, and follow-up maintenance activities, viz., routine, periodic maintenance, and CIP / shutdown activities.
- Control the cost of production by efficient management of available resources as per standards and safeguarding the quality and safety of people and products.
- Ensure product and process compliance and adherence to regulatory compliance by issuing instructions and reviewing / monitoring relevant KPIs.
- Ensure workplace safety and effective communication of Safety, Health, and Environment to all team members.
- Measure, analyze, and control line performance and labor variance by using available systems/tools, an important skill set for those in food technology jobs.
- Measure, analyze, and control material usage variance by using available systems/tools.
- Review process failures and execute continuous improvement activities to excel in any jobs concerning food technology fields.
- Coordinate with other departments for production-related activities, viz., trials, new product development, and technical projects.
- Prepare related information and participate in standard audits (HACCP, ISO, GMP, etc.).
- Coach and mentor team members to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Train the team on the manufacturing process, technology, and standard operating procedures.
- Communicate information flows from the management to the shop floor and vice versa.
Qualifications
- Btech (Food Technology/ Dairy/ Mechanical/ Chemical/ Industrial Production), which is often a minimum educational qualification for jobs in the food technology sector.
Experience
- 2–7 years of relevant work, especially if that experience is related to jobs in food technology.
Skills Needed
- Understand manufacturing / filling-packing operations and best practices, an essential ability for technology or food-related positions.
- Understand components of the total cost of production and factors that influence it
- Understand manufacturing, maintenance, and quality systems
- Know relevant statutory, company, and factory standards, rules, and procedures
- Understand health, safety, and environmental principles
