VACANCY NOTICE
One Research Associate (RA-III) and one Technical Assistant (TA) position are immediately available in the Metabolic Engineering Group, ICGEB New Delhi, under the DBT-supported project, “Hydrocarbons from synthetic microbes and scale-up processing”.
One Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position is immediately available under MK Bhan Fellow Dr. Shweta Tripathi in the Metabolic Engineering Group, ICGEB New Delhi, under the DBT-supported project, “Molecular mapping of acid-tolerant microalgae to unravel the transcriptional targets for tailored production of fatty acids and carotenoids by valorizing industrial flue gas”.
The positions are available initially for one year, with further extensions based on the candidate’s performance up to 3 years or availability of funds.
Job description: The selected candidate will perform algae cultivation and implement metabolic engineering and synthetic biology tools to express heterologous genes for carbon capture and hydrocarbon production. A candidate with prior research experience in molecular biology and genetic engineering, expert in scientific writing skills and interpretation of results, and willing to explore new tools for implementing the proposed objectives is desirable.
RA-III Eligibility: PhD in Life Sciences/Biotechnology with prior experience in wet lab and molecular biology using algae. In-silico designing of
vectors, DNA cloning, Genetic transformation of microorganisms, PCR, RT-PCR, ddPCR, GC-MS, Southern blot analysis, DNA sequencing, outdoor cultivation of algae in photobioreactors, and in-vitro maintenance of transgenic algal cultures, etc.TA Eligibility: BSc with 3 years of research experience or MSc/MTech in Life Sciences/Biotechnology.
JRF Eligibility: M.Sc or M.Tech in Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences or another related field with in-depth experience in advanced molecular biology and algae cultivation.
