Name of the Project: Targeted editing of potato genome to develop variety specific True Potato Seed (TPS) ( ICAR-NASF project)
Funding agency: National Agricultural Science Fund (NASF)- ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research)
Tenure of the post: One year, extendable based on performance up to three years or till completion of the project whichever is earlier
Age: 32 years with 3-5 years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically disabled as per government norms.

needs to attach a detailed resume with sufficient info of past research work, a one-page statement of interest in biological research. Please consist of contact details (phone number, email and postal address), a picture, scanned copies of educational/professional qualifications and also reprints of papers. Fellowship amount: 31,000+HRA as applicable
Minimum Educational eligibility ( as prescribed by the financing agency): PhD in any area of biological/life sciences. OR Master degree in any kind of area of biological/life sciences with 4 years/5 years of Bachelor’s degree. OR Candidates having postgraduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor’s degree as well as 2 years Master degree should have qualified NET * or equivalent examination. OR The Master’s degree holders with the integrated degrees (5 years) like B.Tech & M.Tech with specialization in biological/life sciences NET * – As regards, NET examination, the candidate should have qualified any kind of national level examination conducted by the Central Govt. Departments/agencies for admission to the Ph.D. programme are considered as NET for the purpose of RA/SRF. The following are some of the NET examinations: CSIR-CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test. MHRD-Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering admission. DBT-Biotechnology Eligibility Test & Test conducted in Bioinformatics by Bioinformatics National Consortium. DAE-JEST & JGEEBILS, NBHM. ICMR-JRF Entrance Examination. ICAR-Test conducted by ICAR for admission to the Ph.D. programme. DoP-GPAT.
Preference: Candidate should be very motivated to do basic research in biology. Academically outstanding candidate with technological proficiency in recombinant DNA(rDNA) technology especially in cloning, designing and also making gene constructs, growing and also managing plants. Prior research experience in the above skill areas is preferable however not necessary. This may be considered as criteria for shortlisting if many applications are received.
