Job Description

The Senior Project Associate-I will engage in a DST-Cognitive Science Research Initiative (CSRI) sponsored project focusing on targeting Fibronectin 1 (FN1) for cognitive dysfunction associated with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). This position in research jobs requires expertise in various research methodologies and the ability to work collaboratively within a research team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on cognitive dysfunction associated with temporal lobe epilepsy.
  • Utilize rodent models for behavioral neuroscience studies.
  • Perform molecular biology techniques and data analysis.
  • Engage in scientific writing and documentation of research findings.
  • Collaborate with the principal investigator and other team members.
  • Prepare reports and presentations based on research outcomes.
  • Assist in the supervision of junior researchers and students.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions related to the project.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Master’s Degree in Natural Sciences/Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Biomedical Science/Neuroscience/Molecular Biology or equivalent with four years of experience in R&D in academic/industrial institutions.
  • Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is also acceptable.
  • Maximum age limit is 40 years as per Government of India/DST norms.

Required Skills

  • Experience in rodent models and behavioral neuroscience.
  • Proficiency in molecular biology and immunohistochemistry.
  • Knowledge of microscopy and cell culture techniques.
  • Familiarity with EEG/electrophysiology.
  • Background in epilepsy research.
  • Strong scientific writing skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
