Bose Institute invites applications for Project Associate-II under the ANRF-sponsored research project titled:

“Investigating the mechanistic role of epigenetic switch ULTRAPETALA in regulating developmental pathways in indica rice variety impact on growth and crop yield.”

The appointment is initially for one year and may be extended based on satisfactory performance and availability of project funds. The project is tenable up to 08 June 2029.

  • Location: Department of Biological Sciences, Unified Academic Campus, Bose Institute, Salt Lake City, Kolkata.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on the ANRF-sponsored research project.
  • Investigate the mechanistic role of the epigenetic switch ULTRAPETALA in developmental pathways of indica rice.
  • Perform research activities under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
  • Handle laboratory experiments and related research work.

Qualifications

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess any one of the following:

  • Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences.
  • Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences.
  • BVSc.
  • B.Pharm.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine.

Additionally, candidates must have two years of R&D experience in Industrial or Academic Institutions, Science & Technology Organisations, or Scientific Activities and Services.

Experience

Minimum 2 years of Research & Development (R&D) experience in:

  • Industrial Institutions
  • Academic Institutions
  • Science & Technology Organizations
  • Scientific Activities and Services

Skills Needed

Desirable Skills

  • Recombinant DNA Technology
  • Protein Expression and Purification
  • Handling Plant Samples
  • Transcriptomics

Master’s Degree in:

  • Biochemistry
  • Biotechnology
  • Botany

Age Limit

Maximum Age: 35 Years

Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per Government rules.

Salary

  • ₹42,000 + HRA for candidates selected through CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or other eligible national-level examinations.
  • ₹33,000 + HRA for other eligible candidates.
