Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Work under the National Network Project on Crop Bioinformatics: NNP of NIPGR.
• Knowledge of database management systems, including SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Work with large biological databases.
• Perform statistical analysis of biological datasets.
• Utilize AI-based algorithms for genomic and transcriptomic data analysis.
• Handle large-scale NGS data using programming and Linux-based tools.

Qualifications

Essential Qualification

• Post Graduate/Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology (MSc/MTech).

Desirable Qualification

• Experience in using programming languages such as Python and R.
• Experience with Linux command line tools for handling large-scale NGS data.
• Good quality publication record.

Experience Required

Candidates should have experience in:

• Handling large-scale NGS datasets.
• Working with Linux command-line tools.
• Programming using Python and R.
• Managing biological databases.
• Research and publication activities in relevant fields.

Fellowship / Salary

• ₹31,000/- per month + 16% HRA
• Applicable for: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests, including CSIR-UGC NET and GATE.
• ₹25,000/- per month + 16% HRA
• Applicable for: Candidates who do not fall under the above categories.

Duration

3 years (likely to be extended) or till the termination of the project, whichever is earlier.

Age Limit

Maximum age: 35 years. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per the Government of India rules.
