The Associate Scientist – Image Analyst is responsible for leading digital pathology informatics and image analysis initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize algorithms for digital pathology image analysis, including IHC staining quantification, tumor/stroma classification, and cellular feature extraction
- Develop and support image analysis workflows using Python for data processing and model development
- Train, evaluate, and deploy transformer-based deep learning models for image analysis and inference
- Perform statistical analysis and data visualization using tools such as Power BI, R, Python, and MATLAB
- Document methodologies, algorithms, and results in compliance with quality and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including pathologists, scientists, and analysts to deliver project outcomes
- Contribute to continuous improvement of image analysis pipelines and best practices
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams
Educational Qualification
PhD or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Biological Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline is often required for a Bioinformatics Job in this sector.
Technical / Functional Skills
- Experience with digital pathology software such as HALO, Visiopharm, Definiens, Inform, Fiji, or Aperio Image Analysis can be a strong asset in bioinformatics job roles.
- Hands-on experience in image processing and deep learning architectures (CNN, RNN, GAN) for feature extraction, object detection, and classification
- Strong programming skills in R, Python, and/or MATLAB
- Knowledge of transformer-based models and their application in image analysis
Experience
- PhD with 1–2 years of relevant experience, or
- M.Tech with 3–5 years of relevant experience in Pharma, Biotech, or R&D environments. Candidates with experience directly tied to a Bioinformatics Job will be preferred.
