Information about Agilent is available at www.agilent.com.As the Chromatography Sales Specialist you will join Agilent Technologies’ dynamic and high-achieving sales team. As an integral member of the Field Sales Team you will use your sales track record to focus on acquiring new customers and retaining and growing the existing installed base of customers. Key responsibility will be to develop sales of our Chromatography Columns, Spectroscopy Supplies & General Supplies with an emphasis on our Food and Environmental portfolio through customer interactions. In parallel, you will determine and develop strategies to achieve quota based on customer’s requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Selling Agilent Chromatography & Spectroscopy Supplies (CSD) products to end-user customers in assigned territory, industry, or accounts, primarily through outbound sales activities.
- Following up on leads coming from our demand generation system.
- Developing a strong relationship in key/targeted accounts within the assigned geography of responsibility
- Leading projects cross-functionally within Agilent, partnering with Instrument Account Managers in targeted accounts.
- Proactively acts to understand customer needs and identify solutions to non-standard tasks/queries; actively creates business opportunities
- Determines and develops approaches to direct or channel sales assignments to achieve quota/ strategies
- Leads projects requiring coordination with other functions, organizations
Solves a broad range of problems of varying scope and complexity
Qualifications:
- BS or MS Degree in Science (Chemistry/Biology) or equivalent
- 3+ years progressive experience in chromatography applications and/or sales along with a demonstrated track record of results.
- High level of experience with LC and GC columns market; product expertise within varied industries and customer types.
- Application knowledge in Pharmaceutical, Applied market and academia environment. Commercial/selling skills: Business development experience, strong experience in sales/closing skills.
- Able to formulate sales and business plans that are consistent with countries market drivers. Work as a team, and wants the team to succeed and actively works to ensure that it happens. Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities and changing business needs. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently and through effective lateral influencing.
- Ability to perform exceptionally in fast paced, performance oriented environment. Strong process orientation, problem solving and troubleshooting skills and a firm commitment to quality.
- Strong analytical capabilities. Must be able to travel (up to 50%) when required
- Proven ability to understand customer needs and identify solutions to non-standard tasks/queries; actively creates business opportunities.
- Demonstrate proficiency with computer systems and programs. Ability to analyze territory with Excel pivot tables and complete online training modules.
- Ability to solve a broad range of problems of varying scope and complexity.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills are a must.
