Bioinformatics Summer Internship 2024 With Hands-On-Training + Project / Dissertation - 30 Days, 3 Months & 6 Months Duration

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) was established at Ludhiana by an act of the Punjab Legislature No. 16 of 2005 notified in the Punjab Government Gazette on August 9, 2005 and it started functioning w.e.f. April 21, 2006 for promoting livestock production, health and prevention of the disease(s) through integrated teaching, research and extension programme(s). The University was established with the following goals and objectives:

  • To provide adequate supply of trained veterinary professionals including Master’s and Doctorate level specialists capable of handling livestock health and production aspects according to the needs of the State Government and allied agencies.
  • To undertake research work in selected areas and wherever applicable following multidisciplinary approach.
  • To provide opportunities for continuing education for professionals in Veterinary Science.
  • To provide consultancy and specialist services to livestock owners, government, semi-government and allied agencies.
  • To run “Referral” hospitals for specialized treatment and also to provide clinical training to the students.
  • To provide technical expert advise to different government and other agencies whenever called upon.
  • To foster faculty development by providing opportunities to participate in appropriate training programmes, conferences, workshops, seminars, symposia etc. and avail other opportunities in exchange programmes.
  • To encourage cooperation and collaboration with other departments, colleges, universities and industries, both nationally and internationally.

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the post of Senior Research Fellow (one) in the ICAR Extramural funded project entitled “Exploring the gaps in veterinary education in India to match the graduate skills with stakeholders’ level. The post is purely temporary and is for six months or till the termination of the scheme whichever is earlier. The term of fellowship may be extended for further period provided that the performance of the candidate is found satisfactory. The incumbent have no right what so ever for absorption in the regular university service.

Position Title: Senior Research Fellow

Project Title: “Exploring the gaps in veterinary education in India to match the graduate skills with stakeholders’ level

Essential Qualifications:

  • B.Sc in Life Science/Biological Sciences with a minimum OCPA 6.00/10.00 basis or 50% marks.
  • MSc & or PhD in any branch of Life Sciences with minimum OCPA 6.50/10.00 or 65% marks
  • Knowledge of Punjabi upto Matric level. The condition of knowledge in Punjabi however relexable if candidate is found otherwise deserving.

Emoluments: Rs. 25,000.00 + HRA (per month)

Upper Age limit: 35 Years for men and 40 years for women (as on the last date of application)

Interested and eligible candidates can send in their Bio-data (in the prescribed format attached) along with a recent passport size photograph and attested photocopies of all related documents. The documents can be submitted by post/by hand in the Office of the HOD, Vahee, GADVASU.

The eligible candidates may appear in the interview on 30/03/2016 at 2.30 PM along with their original certificates/degrees in the office of the undersigned. No TA/DA is permissible for appearing in the interview and no separate letter for the interview will be issued.
