Programme Overview
The Research Trainee/Intern Programme at the CSIR – Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (CSIR-IGIB) provides undergraduate and postgraduate students with opportunities to gain hands-on research experience in genomics, molecular biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, and related life science disciplines.
Each year, CSIR-IGIB hosts more than 150 research trainees across its laboratories. Students may participate in short-term research training or complete dissertation projects as part of their academic curriculum. The institute also collaborates with several universities to facilitate research training and dissertation-based internships.
Programme Duration
The programme offers flexible research training opportunities, including:
- Short-term research internships: Approximately 2 months.
- Dissertation projects: 6 months or 1 year, depending on university requirements.
