Job Description
This Remote Life Science Job at PATH focuses on coordinating malaria elimination activities at the ward level under the Urban Malaria Elimination Project. The Ward Coordinator will collaborate with municipal health teams, supervise field operations, and strengthen disease surveillance systems. The role involves supporting ward-specific operational plans, ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment of malaria cases, facilitating follow-up and case management, and coordinating GIS mapping and hotspot investigations. The position also requires organizing community awareness programmes and supervising frontline health workers to improve malaria surveillance and reporting outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the implementation of malaria elimination activities within the assigned intervention ward.
- Support active malaria case detection and fever surveillance activities.
- Coordinate with public and private healthcare providers to ensure timely malaria case reporting.
- Monitor ward-level operational plans and programme activities.
- Facilitate timely diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and case management of malaria patients.
- Support the implementation of G6PD testing and radical cure interventions.
- Coordinate GIS mapping and malaria hotspot investigations.
- Ensure timely submission of surveillance data, programme reports, and project documentation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline. Master’s degree desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in public health programme implementation.
