Educational Qualification
- M.Sc. / B.Tech in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Bioengineering / Chemistry with a minimum of 70% marks or equivalent grade.
- An additional percentage cut-off may be applied during the screening process, if required.
Preferred Qualification
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Work experience or M.S. project in a Drosophila genetics or genomics laboratory.
- Qualification in a National-level examination such as CSIR-NET, DBT-NET, GATE, or JGEEBILS.
- Basic degree in Biochemistry or Genetics.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct research on Serine Hydrolases in Drosophila.
- Assist in the management of the project.
Emoluments
- ₹30,000 per month + 30% HRA.
- ₹37,000 per month + 30% HRA for candidates with a valid CSIR-NET/GATE/DBT-JRF or any other National Level Test conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies or equivalent scorecard.
Duration
Initially for 6 months, extendable based on continuation of the project and satisfactory performance.
Age Limit
- Not more than 30 years as on the last date of application.
- Age relaxation commensurate with higher qualifications and/or experience may be considered with prior approval of the competent authority.
Selection Process
- Applications must be submitted online.
- Shortlisted candidates will be informed about the selection process through email, and the list will also be published on the institute website.
- Candidates will be required to submit and verify:
- Photocopies of certificates and testimonials supporting age, educational qualifications, and experience.
- Recent passport-size color photograph.
General Information
- The appointment is purely temporary and contractual and will automatically terminate upon completion of the project without notice or compensation.
- The selected candidate will have no claim for appointment or absorption in the funding agency or IISER Pune.
- The appointment will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency applicable to the project.
- The last date of application will be considered for determining age, educational qualifications, and experience.
- Educational qualifications must be obtained from recognized Universities/Institutions.
- Mere fulfillment of the minimum qualifications does not guarantee being shortlisted for the selection process.
- The Project Investigator may restrict the number of candidates called for the interview based on qualifications and experience.
- The number of posts may vary depending on the requirements during the selection process.
- The experience requirement may be relaxed based on the applications received with prior approval of the competent authority.
- If a selected candidate does not join or resigns after joining, a waitlisted candidate may be offered the position.
- No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
- No interim enquiries or correspondence will be entertained.
- Any form of political or other influence will be treated as disqualification.
