Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Recruitment 

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Thiruvananthapuram invites applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on a contractual basis for the externally funded research project:

Project Title:
Structure-Based Design, Synthesis, and Biological Evaluation of LptA–LptC Lipopolysaccharide Transporter Interface Inhibitors for Combating Multidrug-Resistant Gram-Negative Infections

Project Details

  • Post Name: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
  • Funding Agency: Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)
  • Number of Posts: 01
  • Fellowship: ₹37,000 per month + HRA (as per applicable rules)
  • Tenure: 2 Years (May be extended by one additional year based on satisfactory performance)
  • Age Limit: Upper age limit of 30 years as on the last date of application (Age relaxation applicable as per Government rules)
  • Last Date to Apply: 20 July 2026

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on the ANRF-funded research project titled “Structure-Based Design, Synthesis, and Biological Evaluation of LptA–LptC Lipopolysaccharide Transporter Interface Inhibitors for Combating Multidrug-Resistant Gram-Negative Infections.”
  • Participate in research activities under the guidance of the project investigators.
  • Contribute to computational drug discovery and biological evaluation related to multidrug-resistant Gram-negative infections.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • Master’s degree in Biology (BSMS/M.Sc./MS, etc.)
  • Pharmaceutical Sciences (M.Pharm/PharmD, etc.)
  • Or any other relevant discipline.
  • A valid NET/GATE or equivalent national-level qualification.

Experience

Preference will be given to candidates having research experience in:

  • Computational drug discovery
  • Molecular docking
  • Virtual screening
  • Pharmacophore modelling
  • QSAR
