Walk-in-Interview
Eligible candidates are invited to attend the walk-in interview for the engagement of two positions of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) under the externally funded project mentioned below. The position is unreserved, purely temporary, and co-terminus with the project. Candidates are required to bring the duly filled and signed application form along with original copies of educational and other relevant documents, and one set of self-attested photocopies for verification at the time of interview. The walk-in interview will be held on 30.06.2026 at 10:30 AM at Division of Genetics, IARI, New Delhi.
- Position: Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
- No of Posts: 2 Positions
- Project: ICAR funded project on “Molecular Breeding for Improvement of Tolerance to Biotic and Abiotic Stresses, Yield and Quality Traits in Crops (Maize)” (12-143C)
- Age Limit: Maximum: 35 years for men; 40 years for women
Qualifications
- Essential Qualifications: Master’s degree in Genetics/Plant Breeding/Genetics and Plant Breeding/Biotechnology/Life Sciences or allied subjects with 4 years/5 years of Bachelor’s Degree. Candidates having a post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years of Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Master’s degree should have NET/GATE qualifications and 2 years of research experience
- Desirable: Research experience of marker-designing, PCR assay, marker-assisted selection, gene expression assay, pollination and evaluation of maize genotypes, for phenotypic characterization.
Emoluments: ₹ 37,000 + HRA per month for 1st and 2nd year & ₹ 42,000/- per month + HRA for 3rd year

Terms and Conditions
- Relaxation in upper age limit to SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwD (10 years), and other eligible categories shall be applicable as per GoI/ICAR rules.
- The post is purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis for one year or till the termination of the project, whichever is earlier.
- The selected candidate shall not claim regular appointment at this Institute, as the post is co-terminus with the project.
- The candidates will have to compulsorily fill in the application form (as per the format annexed), all the scanned certificates from matriculation onwards, date of birth certificate, NET/equivalent certificate, degree certificate either original or provisional, and a recent photograph enclosed onto the application form. Proof of experience and publications also need to be attached.
- The selected candidate will be required to produce all the original documents and self-attested photocopies at the time of interview and joining. Proof of experience and publications also need to be submitted.
- No TA/DA/ any other expenses will be paid for attending the interview.
- Only the candidates meeting essential qualifications would be interviewed.
- Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination of such candidates.
