Job Overview

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, invites applications from eligible candidates for appointment to the post of Junior Scientific Assistant in the Central Drugs Testing Laboratory (CDTL), Chennai, under the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), Directorate General of Health Services.

The position is to be filled on a deputation basis in accordance with the applicable Government of India rules and regulations.

The terms and conditions of deputation shall be governed by DoPT O.M. No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay-II) dated 17 June 2010 and subsequent amendments issued from time to time.

Note

Vacancies arising due to deputation, long illness, study leave, or other circumstances resulting in absence for one year or more may be filled on a deputation basis.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must either:

Option 1

  • Hold an analogous post on a regular basis.

OR

Option 2

  • Have completed six years of regular service in posts carrying:
  • Level 5 Pay Matrix
  • Pay Scale: ₹29,200 – ₹92,300

Educational Qualification

Applicants must possess a Master’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute in any one of the following disciplines:

  • Biochemistry
  • Bacteriology
  • Microbiology
  • Biotechnology

  • Cadre Clearance Certificate.

Employer / Cadre Controlling Authority Certification

The Employer or Cadre Controlling Authority must certify that:

  • The information furnished by the applicant is true and correct as per official records.
  • The applicant possesses the educational qualifications and experience prescribed in the vacancy circular.
  • The applicant will be relieved immediately if selected.

Additionally, the authority must certify that:

  • No vigilance or disciplinary case is pending or contemplated against the applicant.
  • The integrity of the applicant is certified.
  • Original CR dossier or attested copies of ACRs/APARs for the last five years are enclosed.
  • No major or minor penalty has been imposed during the last ten years, or details of such penalties are enclosed, as applicable.

The certificate must be duly signed and sealed by the Employer/Cadre Controlling Authority.

Additional Information

Applicants may be required to indicate:

  • Whether they are applying under Deputation, Short-Term Contract (STC), Absorption, or Re-employment basis, wherever applicable.
  • Whether they belong to SC/ST category.
