Project Details

  • Project Title: A One Health Approach to National Pandemic Preparedness: Development of a Novel Multiplex Assay for Serological Investigations of Zoonotic Viruses in India
  • PI: Dr. Debasis Nayak
  • Funding Agency: ICMR-funded project

Available Positions

1. Junior Research Fellow -I (One)

  • Essential Qualifications: Post-graduate degree in Life Science, Biological Science, or any related field, or post-graduate degree in professional courses related to health care science, Biotechnology, or related fields from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Desirable Qualifications:
    • Candidate should have either (1) qualified CSIR /UGC NET or GATE or (ii) a National-level examination conducted by reputed Central Govt. Institutes such as DST, DBT, DAE, DRDO, ICMR, ICAR, IIT, IISC, IISER etc.
    • Knowledge of molecular virology is a plus (Molecular Cloning, Viral assays, Serology)
    • Experience in mammalian cell culture and related assays (Western Blot, RT-PCR)
  • Job Description: The JRF will be working towards achieving project objectives in a BSL-2, BSL-3 facility, conduct relevant experiments, data collection, record keeping, analysis of results, and report to the Principal Investigator.
  • Salary:
    • Rs. 37,000 + applicable HRA
    • Note: For candidates without CSIR/UGC NET or GATE, or not having National level examination qualification, the salary will be Rs. 25,000 + HRA (as applicable) per month (Consolidated pay with no other allowances).

2. Project Technical Support III (One)

  • Essential Qualifications: Three Years Graduate degree in relevant subject/field + three Years post qualification experience or PG in relevant subject/field.
  • Desirable Qualifications:
    • Candidate should have either knowledge of the operation of Biological Science Laboratory
    • Knowledge of molecular virology is a plus (Molecular Cloning, Viral assays, Serology)
  • Job Description: The Project Technical Support III will be working towards achieving project objectives in a BSL-2, BSL-3 facility, and assist in conducting relevant experiments, data collection, record keeping, analysis of results, and report to the Principal Investigator.
  • Salary: Rs. 28,000 + applicable HRA

Tenure of Appointment

Both the appointments will be initially for one year from the date of his/her joining the Institute, which may be extended (for up to one more year) later/terminated earlier depending on the availability of funds and performance of the candidates.

Age Limit

Should not exceed 35 (for Project Associate) and 50 (for Laboratory Technician) years as on 01 June 2026 with usual relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled and exceptional candidate(s) as per the Government norms.
