Overview
The Research Associate will support the implementation and monitoring of national afforestation and eco-development initiatives under the National Afforestation and Eco-Development Board (NAEB). The role involves coordination with state agencies, technical support, data management, monitoring, reporting, and capacity building related to environmental and forestry schemes, including Nagar Van Yojana.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Inspector General of Forests (NAEB) in the implementation of Nagar Van Yojana.
- Provide technical support for activities under various scheme components and sub-components.
- Coordinate with State Governments for submission and scrutiny of project proposals as per scheme guidelines.
- Support the development of monitoring frameworks and implementation strategies.
- Work closely with implementing agencies for submission of required data and documentation.
- Compile data, prepare technical reports, and document best practices and project outcomes.
- Provide technical and training support related to spatial technologies and monitoring tools.
- Ensure collection, compilation, and entry of project data into the Management Information System (MIS).
- Assist in preparation of semi-annual and annual project progress reports highlighting achievements and challenges.
- Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the competent authority.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s Degree from a recognized university in:
- Forestry / Forestry Management
- Natural Resource Management
- Environmental Science / Environmental Biology
- Life Sciences
- Information Sciences
- Economics with Statistics
- Agriculture with Statistics or Agricultural Economics
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in a Government Agency/Council related to implementation of national-level schemes or programmes.
- Proficiency in computer operations and MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Fluency in English and Hindi.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Forestry, Environmental Conservation, or Natural Resource Management.
- Experience working with reputed organizations or NGOs in related sectors.
- Prior exposure to work within Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change will be considered an advantage.
Age Limit
Maximum age limit is 45 years as on the date of advertisement.
Terms of Engagement
- The engagement is temporary and contractual in nature.
- The appointment may be terminated at any time without assigning any reason.
- Candidates will be governed by the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and confidentiality requirements of the department.
- No accommodation or additional allowances will be provided.
- TA/DA will be admissible only for approved official travel.
- Applicable TDS will be deducted from the monthly remuneration.
Selection Process
