Role Summary
As a Medical Safety Expert, you will be responsible for implementing and managing Novartis’ global drug surveillance program. This includes adverse event follow-up, risk assessment, safety monitoring in clinical trials and post-marketing programs, and supporting compliance with global regulatory requirements. The role provides safety oversight throughout the product life cycle and contributes to medical risk management, safety signal detection, and data-driven safety decision-making — a core function within the clinical research jobs domain.
Major Accountabilities
- Support safety deliverables by co-authoring safety reports and contributing medical input for regulatory and clinical documents.
- Review medical and scientific literature for potential safety signals.
- Monitor product safety profiles through individual case assessments and safety signal detection.
- Assist in preparing safety-related responses for Health Authority queries.
- Collaborate on regulatory submissions and new indication filings.
- Evaluate and manage local deviations and ensure global consistency in safety documentation.
- Train and mentor junior colleagues in safety science and pharmacovigilance.
- Ensure full compliance with Novartis policies, GCP, and pharmacovigilance regulations.

Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a medical or life sciences discipline
- Experience:

- Strong knowledge of pharmacovigilance and drug safety processes
- Familiarity with medical literature review, regulatory compliance, and data safety monitoring
- Skills:
- Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in medical data interpretation and safety science tools
- Experience in working with cross-functional and global teams
- Languages: Fluent in English (oral and written)
- Work Type: Office-based role in Hyderabad (no shift work)
