ADVERTISEMENT FOR JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW POSITION IN SERB-DST FUNDED PROJECT

Applications are invited from the eligible, highly motivated and bright candidates for the position of one Junior Research Fellow in SERB-DST, GOI, New Delhi-110070, a funded research project in the Department of Bioinformatics, School of Life Sciences, Pondicherry University.

Name of the Project: Identification & characterization of cis-Regulatory elements of Pras40 promoter and studying protein-protein interaction between PRAS40-mTORC1 to understand PRAS40 regulation in cancer to determine as a potent therapeutic target(File No. EEQ/2022/000337

Name of the PI: Dr. A. Dinakara Rao, Professor, Department of Bioinformatics, School of Life Sciences, Pondicherry University, R.V. Nagar Kalapet, Puducherry-605014, India

Duration of the position: 03 Years or completion of the project, whichever is earlier. The offer will be

initially for One Year but can be extended further based on the performance and availability of funds.

Age Limit and Relaxation: Not more than 28 Years. SC/ST/OBC/Women/ Physically Challenged/EWS candidates will get the age relaxation as per SERB, Govt. of India norms.

Important: The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.

• Selection will be done on the basis of an interview by the duly constituted selection committee. Original certificates and self-attested copies of all certificates need to be presented before the interview for verification.
• Pondicherry University reserves the right to withdraw the advertised post at any time without assigning any reason if the circumstances so warrant it. The right is also reserved with the University either to fill or not to fill the post and its decision, in this regard shall be final.
• Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for an Interview.
• No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
• The eligibility of the candidates will be determined on the last date fixed for receipt of application forms.
• The position is purely temporary and services will be governed as per University, and/or SERB-DST rules.

Essential Qualification:

1. M.Sc. with a minimum 55% mark (or a CGPA of 5.5 on 10 point scale) in any branch of Life Sciences/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology
2. Qualify any of the national level eligibility tests in the relevant subject for research like CSIR-UGC NET (JRF or LS), SLET or any such exam conducted by Govt. of India agencies like DBT, DST, ICAR, ICMR, etc. will be given priority.

Desirable qualification: Expertise in Bioinformatics and Molecular biology techniques. Primary idea/experience in Molecular biology research with excellent writing skills.

Fellowship: Rs. 31,000.00/-per month for JRF (first two years) and Rs. 35,000/-per month for SRF (third year) + HRA as per University rules.
