Title of Project – Nanogel-mediated Gene Editing (CRISPR/Cas9) Technologies to Improve Crop Protection against Bacterial Leaf Blight in Rice.

Name of the Principal Investigator: Dr. Ramu S. Vemanna, Assistant Professor

Name of the Co-Principal Investigator: Dr. Avinash Bajaj, Professor, Dr. Saikat Bhattacharjee, Associate Professor and Dr. Prashant Pawar, Assistant Professor

Age Limit – Below 35 Years

Duration – Initially for one year, and can be extended on annual basis.

Essential Qualifications – MSc/MTech in Life Sciences / Biotechnology /Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry/Bioinformatics/Genomics/Animal/Chemistry/Pharmacy or any other any related subject, and National level JRF eligibility test such as NET, GATE, etc. qualified.

Desirable Qualifications – Experience in Chemistry, purification, molecular biology, biochemistry, protein isolation, Confocal microscopy, gene editing techniques, or mammalian cell culture, and chemical synthesis. A candidate who has 1-year research experience of working in a relevant area with expertise will be preferred. Candidate should be motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking and a team player with good interpersonal skills.
