Post I

Name of the Post – Research Associate -I

No. of Posts – 01

Name of the Project – ‘Site-Directed mutagenesis of lowaffinity nitrate transporter gene for improving nitrogen efficiency in aerobic rice’ – DBT)

Upper age – 40 years

Fellowship – Rs. 47,000 + 24% HRA p.m. (T&C for RA-I: OM SB/S9/Z-06/2019 dated 23 April 2019)

Essential: Doctorate degree in Plant Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology & Biotechnology/ Life Science (Plant Science) from a UGC-recognised university.

Desirable: Hands-on-experience with basic molecular techniques, plant transformation, tissue culture, creating mutations by any molecular approach, bioinformatics, knowledge of R, data analysis and interpretation, and report writing. Research publications in SCI journal (cite first/corresponding author only).

Post II

Name of the Post

– Junior Research Fellow/ Project Associate-I

Name of the Project – ‘Site-Directed mutagenesis of lowaffinity nitrate transporter gene for improving nitrogen efficiency in aerobic rice’ – DBT)

Upper age – 35 years

Fellowship – 

• Rs. 31,000/- plus 24% HRA p.m. for NET/GATE or any National Level Exams conducted by Central Govt Dept.
• Rs. 25,000/- plus 24% HRA p.m. for others without the above qualification

Essential: 1st class Master’s degree in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Life Sciences (Plant Science).

Desirable: Hands-on experience in basic molecular techniques like cloning, transformation, transgenic analysis, in silico analysis using various software, and report writing. Expertise in MS Office.

Post III

Name of the Post – JRF/Project Associate I

No. of Posts – 01

Name of the Project – Germplasm Characterization and Trait Discovery in Wheat using Genomics Approaches and its Integration for Improving Climate Resilience, Productivity and
Nutritional quality

Fellowship – 

• Rs. 31,000/- plus 24% HRA p.m. for 1&2 year; SRF/Project AssociateII in year 3, 4, & 5 with Rs. 35,000 plus 24% HRA p.m.
• Rs. 25,000/- plus 24% HRA p.m. for others without above qualification

Essential: 1st class Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences/ Plant Physiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/Life Sciences (Plant Science)/ Botany (Physiology specialization). OR Post Graduate degree in relevant Professional courses.

Desirable: Experience of working with field crops, designing field layouts, statistical analyses, data interpretation, report writing, tissue nutrient analysis, etc. Expertise in MS Office.

Terms and conditions:

1. Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST & women, and 3 years for OBC as per rule.
2. The posts are purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis which may be extended periodically subject to the performance of the candidate till the termination of the project.
3. The candidate shall not claim a regular position at this Institute, the post is co-terminus with the project.
4. The candidates will have to compulsorily fill in the application form (as per the format annexed), with certificates from matriculation onwards, date of birth certificate, NET/LS/GATE equivalent certificate, degree certificates, and recent photograph. Enclose the proof of experience, and NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (if employed).
5. Candidates without PDC of M.Sc. or Ph.D. degrees are NOT eligible.
6. No TA/DA will be paid for attending for the interview or joining if selected.
7. Only the candidates meeting essential qualifications would be interviewed.
8. Concealing of facts or CANVASSING in any form shall lead to the disqualification of such candidates.
9. In case of any disputes, they will be resolved in the jurisdiction of the New Delhi court only.
10. The final results of the interview will be hosted on the institute’s website 10 days after the interview, so no phone calls will be entertained.
11. Reporting time is 10.00 am.
12. In case the number of candidates exceeds the maximum limit, there will be a pre-interview written test.
