Eligibility Criteria & Skills: For WWF Msc Biology Jobs

  • Masters or equivalent qualification in field of ecology/wildlife/environment/biology.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the field of raptor research or conservation
  • Experience of working with research and conservation institutions.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the tools and techniques on raptor research and the relevant frameworks.

Desired competencies:

  • Self-starter with ability to timely execute projects activities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good bird identification and survey technique skills.
  • Ability to inform and influence key stakeholders on the raptor conservation.
  • Ability and desire to work in tough filed conditions as needed, and travel to attend meetings with key stakeholders and partners in and outside India.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

Raptors are beneficial to humans as they feed on carrion, thereby reducing harmful effects. However, despite their importance, raptors get little conservation attention

and are becoming increasingly threatened. To address this gap, WWF India has initiating raptor conservation.

WWF India is looking for dynamic and self-motivated biologists, with a zeal to work for research and conservation actions supporting raptors and the overall environmental well-being. The candidates are expected to conduct actionable research and take actions on ground for raptors and their habitats conservation– including data analysis and reporting. The position will be based at field locations in and Brahmaputra Landscape (Guwahati/Tejpur).

Job Profile: For WWF Msc Biology Jobs

  • Undertake raptor research and conservation work to assess status of their populations, distributionand factors affecting their long-term survival.
  • Ensure timely implementation of the activities.
  • Coordinate with various Govt. department(s), and community groups and other stakeholders forplanning out and timely implementation of the activities.
  • Identify and work with partners and stakeholders to promote raptor conservation
  • Identify solutions for raptor conservation based on work on the ground and consultation with keystakeholders.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, as well as communication team at WWF-India Secretariat forcommunicating progress as well as success stories.
  • Represent WWF-India at relevant fora and build its network with key players in the sector.
