Job Title: Project Associate-I (Mammals/ Birds/ Herpetofauna)

No.of posts: 03

Eligibility Criteria:  Master’s degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Wildlife Science/ Forestry/ Environmental Science/ Zoology/ Life Science or related subjects with ≥ 1-year experience in the relevant field.

Desirable: Experience in Taxonomy, Biology, and Ecology of forest-dwelling and wetland birds and/or mammals and/or amphibians & reptiles, especially in east-central
India, with relevant skills in ecological statistics; good communication
and interpersonal skills with the willingness to work in a diverse team

Salary: Rs. 31,000/- + HRA per month to scholars who are selected through

(a) National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant
Professorship) or GATE, or

(b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.

Age: 35 years

Description of Work: The selected candidates will carry

out field investigations
on the assessment of wildlife values; data entry, data analyses, report writing
and all other related works assigned by the Project Investigator.

Mode of Selection and other conditions:

1. The selection of the candidates will be in accordance with the performance in the interview and in order of merit as decided by the Interview Committee. All original documents should be produced at the time of the interview. The decision of the Institute’s Committee in all matters relating to eligibility, work experience, acceptance or rejection of the application will be final and binding on the candidates, and no inquiry or correspondence will be entertained from any individual.

2. The candidates are required to submit their completed application forms in PDF format, with accompanying attachments, by email with subject line: “Application for the post of Project Associate-I in “Preparation of Integrated Wildlife Action Plan comprising of mitigation and compensating measures with landscape approach of entire forest area in Hazaribagh Wildlife Forest Division, Hazaribagh West Forest Division and Koderma Forest Division in the impact zone of the Koderma Detour of DFCCIL project” to
<[email protected]> not later than 1730 hrs on 05.08.2022.

3. Application form need to be typed according to the prescribed format and must be accompanied by (a) Scanned copies of educational qualifications, (b) Scanned copies of experience letter/ certificates and (c) A concise statement of purpose (SOP) with approximately 300-500 words (in single spacing and 12-point font). The (SOP) should be
compulsorily attached with the application stating the purpose clearly for applying to this position. Incomplete applications will be rejected. There is no specified format for the SOP.

4. Send separate applications while applying for multiple posts.

5. The applications received will be rejected by the Institute if (i) received after the deadline, (ii) not in the prescribed application format, (iii) self-attested documents of qualification, date of birth & experience not attached, or (iii) received without said subject line in e-mail.

6. The essential, desirable qualifications and SOP will be used for shortlisting the candidates for an online interviews.

7. The shortlisted candidates will be notified (through email and website notification) for online personal interview. The selection will be made based on the online personal interview.

8. At the time of verification of original documents, if it is found that an attempt has been made by the applicant to willfully conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, his/her candidature will not be considered.

9. The advertised positions are purely temporary/ contractual for the project period only and will stand abolished after completion.

10. The tenure in the project will be governed by the Institute’s rules and regulations.

11. Relaxation in Age will be given as per Govt. of India norms

12. Director, WII reserves the right to reject any candidature in view of incomplete information provided by the candidate or for any other reason thereof.
