  • Diagnostics:

°More optimal/effective use of antimicrobials via PK/PD in clinical practice
°Prognostic markers of bacterial infection (i.e. when is an antibacterial indicated?)
°Prognostic markers of infection with microorganisms resistant to first-line empirical °treatment regimens (i.e. when is a broad-spectrum antibacterial indicated?)

  • Antimicrobial Stewardship:

°The impact of resistance or antimicrobial consumption surveillance on patient outcomes in neighbourhood, long-term care and acute facilities
°Innovative promotion of behaviour change science in prescribing in most healthcare settings
°Impact of educational solutions/guidelines on stewardship practice/infection treatment outcomes [could be systematic review] °Impact of sepsis campaigns on optimal antibiotic use/stewardship or use of”older agents” used in stewardship on clinical outcomes

  • Virology: Targeting viruses with preexisting resistance to licensed therapies
  • Antibiotic Adjuvants
: Antibiotic adjuvants i.e. resistance breakers (for instance, efflux pump inhibitors, uptake enhancers e.g. polymyxin B nonapeptide)
Molecular Mechanisms of Antimicrobial Resistance(like viruses, bacteria, viruses and parasites )
  • Informatics: Computational approaches to comprehend and combat antimicrobial resistance, such as the worldwide epidemiology of infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance, computer-aided drug design, electronic approaches for enhanced antimicrobial stewardship.

WHEREVER POSSIBLE PROJECTS SHOULD BE CROSS DISCIPLINARY AND TAKE ACCOUNT OF THE 1 HEALTH AGENDA.

Applications are likewise be encouraged under the Society’s usual areas of interest as follows:

  • Mechanisms of antibacterial action
  • Mechanisms of antibacterial resistance
  • Antiviral resistance
  • Antiviral
  • Antifungals
  • Antibiotic methods
  • Antibiotic prescribing
