RCB Young Investigator Awards 2017

The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) is an institution of national importance established by the Govt. of India through the Dept. of Biotechnology under the auspices of UNESCO as Category II Centre.

RCB-Young Investigator Awards are designed to identify and nurture outstanding young scientists with innovative ideas who are desirous of pursuing research as career in the frontier areas of biotechnology including Host Pathogen interaction in the area of Virology, molecular mechanisms of virus replication, Plant Pathogen Interactions/Plant Molecular Biology,prior experience in separation and identification of metabolites from plant samples using LC-MS/GC-MS and other applicable analytical techniques, and Bioinformatics, under the mentorship of the senior faculty of RCB. Young scientists below 35 years with PhD in any discipline of natural sciences with excellent publication records may apply through the prescribed application (available in the website mentioned below). The scientists should have a provisional degree/certificate at the time of interview.

Duration of the Award: Initially for a period of three (3) years. There shall be an annual review of the progress of research undertaken for the continuation of the award. The award can be extended for additional two years, based on the review by a committee.

Award: The award carries a consolidated stipend of Rs.75,000/- per month. During this tenure, the awardee shall not be entitled to draw any other fellowship or salary in any form.

A duly signed copy of the downloaded application should be sent by speed post or registered post to The Registrar, Regional Centre for Biotechnology, NCR-Biotech Science Cluster, 3rd Milestone, Faridabad-Gurgaon Expressway, Faridabad- 121001 (Haryana), India. Only short listed candidates will be invited for an interview. Final selection will be made in the domain areas where vacancies are available at the time of interview.
