PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • The role involves development of Skill Based Progression System and its subsequent roll out at Sricity.
  • This involves identifying individual skill set requirements and arriving at a contribution based progression framework and rotation policy for Self-Managed Teams and team members.
  • This role also involves benchmarking similar operations at existing sites to establish Best in Class objectives including HPWS and IL6S systems and tracking progress of the same. The role also demands delivery of production targets and execution of Black Belt projects at the existing site.
  • In the operations phase, the Line Lead will be responsible to lead one of the Sricity lines in execution of the daily operations to deliver the Compelling Business Needs for the site in terms of planned production targets while ensuring adherence to SHE and Quality Standards. The Line Lead will also be accountable for anchoring the Capability Building agenda for his team and development of IL6S pillar representatives amongst the team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and Implementation of SCBPS

Anchor the development of Skill & Contribution Based Progression System for the team members – Lead SCBPS work for Sricity to design and develop the framework in detail.  To successfully execute this aspect of the role, the incumbent will have to:

  • Identify skills and skill levels for various activity blocks for different product technologies and group them into detailed skill blocks.
  • Formulate skill block matrix technology-wise and skill level-wise and map out an overall skill matrix
  • Define contribution framework and rotation policy to support development of self-sufficient multi-skilled teams
  • Map out a Skills and Contribution Based Progression road map so as to give a clear guidance on the skill acquisition and career progression pathway for individuals of the Self-Managed Teams in HPWS
  • Frame Business Team Structure for HPWS implementation in Sricity based on SCBPS roadmap

Delivery of Production Targets and Benchmarking Best Practices at Existing Site

  • Support volume delivery of the 16K line with clear production targets along with the Process lead for the line. The incumbent will report to the Manufacturing Manager, Sricity for this KPI
  • Anchor one or two Black Belt projects planned with clear responsibility matrix of leading or supporting it.
  • Study site delivery teams, analyze commissioning challenges and pick up best practices to be implemented at Sricity
  • Conduct Value Stream mapping at existing site for process simplification and identify opportunities to support HPWS culture

Miscellaneous Responsibilities

  • Preparation of TTT Package with the Projects team
  • Support the Projects team in CQV activities and Vertical ramp-up
  • Support the team  in preparation of functional capability curriculum

Own a Manufacturing Line at Sricity and ensure Delivery of Production Targets in line with the CBN 

  • Deliver Planned Production Targets for the line while ensuring adherence to QHSE standards
  • Lead implementation of a High Performance Work System (HPWS) in production operations, including team leadership, operator owned maintenance and implementation of all relevant IL6S pillars (HSE, Quality Management, Autonomous Maintenance)
  • Lead IL6S Phase I implementation and develop the skills and behaviors required for the same in the team members
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining best in class performance in all areas of operations, by ensuring delivery against  performance metrics for all aspects (asset performance, people performance, material performance, process conformance) of the operation
  • Act as Lead Coach for the team members and be accountable for anchoring the Capability Building agenda for his team and development of IL6S pillar representatives amongst the team members.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE:

  • B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engg./ Chemical Engg./ Food Technology from a reputed institute
  • Min. 3-4 years of experience in managing production lines, preferably in the Food Industry
  • Good working knowledge of Chocolate Manufacturing Technology
  • Knowledge of IL6S concepts and their implementation at the shop floor
  • Experience in working across cross-functional teams will be preferred
