QUALIFICATION AND ELIGIBILITY FOR 3rd ANALYST EXAMINATION, 2016

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION : Holds Master’s degree in chemistry or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Dairy Chemistry or Food Technology, Food And Nutrition or Bachelor of Technology in Dairy/Oil or degree in Veterinary Sciences from a university established in India by law or an Associate of the Institution of Chemists (India) by examination in the section of food Analysts conducted by the Institution of Chemists (India) or any other equivalent qualification recognized and notified by the Central government for such
purposes.

EXPERIENCE : Not less than three years experience in the analysis of food.

NOTE: Applicants holding qualification which are claimed to be equivalent to
one of the specified qualifications are requested to submit the requisite orders
of competent authority in Central Government. Admission to the examination
will be provisional and could be revoked at any time before the declaration of
final results.

  1. Hi preety. Good to know about the certification exam. Can you elaborate how often it is held and where are reading material available from. Educational qualification suffices for me but experience doesnt. In that case can I appear for the exam?

  6. I am confused with the examination pattern. Can we take up the examination anytime? Is it a two day examination? How can we decide that how much examination fees we need to pay?

    • Dear Rashmi,

      It is a two day exam. When you have passed these two parts, there is also a practical session with viva.

      The examination fee is Rs 1500.If you feel likeyou have done badly in a paper, you can retake it for Rs 500.

  7. Is Master Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology( Specialization in Microbiology & Immunology) eligible for this exam?

      The FSSAI exam requires 3 years experience in food analysis. Your experience in the pharma industry will, unfortunately, not be eligible for this.

  10. Hi, i dont have an experience as food analyst, but i have completed MSc microbiology, can i take exam or not, if i can take shd i take all papers or one or 2 , please mention

      Because of your degree in biotechnology, you are, unfortunately, not eligible for this post.
