Key Responsibilities:
- Associate Scientist will be a key part of the Biofuels Lab team, leading innovation projects.
- Help grow the MEIA Bioenergy business by supporting global and regional launches of new innovative yeast and enzyme solutions.
- Support projects from lab-scale Proof of Concept to plant-scale Proof of Application.
- Collaborate with customers to realize the implementation of new bio-solutions, like a new generation of Yeast and Enzymes.
- Push the boundary of ethanol plant performance in terms of yield, byproducts value addition, and plant efficiencies.
- Work alongside ITS colleagues and Account managers.
- Comprehend customer needs and processes to deliver world-class innovation relevant to the region.
Qualifications
- M.Sc/M.Tech/PhD in Chemical Engineering.
- M.Sc/M.Tech/PhD in Industrial Engineering.
- M.Sc/M.Tech/PhD in Biotechnology.
- M.Sc/M.Tech/PhD in Bioprocess Engineering.
Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in bioenergy, grain ethanol, or cellulosic ethanol industry.
- Experience within enzyme and yeast applications in Bioenergy.
- Knowledge of lab-scale fermentation protocols.
- Experience in plant-scale fermentation.
- Experience with the design of experiments (DOE).
- Experience analyzing data and a basic understanding of programming to develop Proof of Concepts.
Skills Needed
- Ability to translate technical insights and data into customer-relatable values.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in industrial-scale and field-based environments to demonstrate Proof of Applications.
- Flair for providing technical training internally as well as externally.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Hindi.
- Ability to travel extensively, mainly within the MEIA region.
