Name of the post: Associate Scientist-I
Job role: Product & Process Development for animal nutrition industry by following the Product Innovation Process (PIP) of the company and publication of scientific and technical articles in Kemin database and scientific journals
Qualifications:
PhD in Microbiology or related area with minimum 2 years of research experience, preferably with experience on enzyme research
Specific:
- Carry out laboratory experiments independently by following the Product Innovation Process (PIP) of Kemin.
- Participate in identifying research areas that could lead to the development of new products
- Develop and validate new protocols for laboratory research and prepare standard operating procedures
- Carry out literature search and identify appropriate methods for conducting research.
- Write research reports and presentations.
- Write technical articles based on the research finding on a timely basis for internal and external publications- minimum 6 per year.
- Contribute to patent disclosure- one every two years.
- Contribute to a peer review publication- once in 2 years.
- Gain knowledge about animal nutrition & health and submit ideas for new product development at least one every year.
- Complete 3 short terms (H1) or one medium term (H2) projects or make significant progress in a long term (H3/H4) project every year.
- Provide technical support to marketing & sales by serving as resource person for technical training.
General:
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of all research activities in laboratory note books.
- Protect all confidential information such as formulations, trade secrets and other commercially sensitive information.
- Carry out research activities with high scientific and personal integrity and also by following good scientific, laboratory practices.
- Conduct all research activities with strict adherence to the health and safety policies of the company.
