The ICAR-National Research Centre on Pomegranate, Solapur (Maharashtra), was established on June 16, 2005 by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, as a step to strengthen research and development infrastructure for pomegranate crop. Though Universities and institutes all over the world are having research programmes on pomegranate, this is the only institution working solely on pomegranate. The centre was established to fulfill the growing demand for pomegranate both in domestic and export market through tapping the immense production potential prevailing in the country.
The Director, ICAR-National Research Centre on Pomegranate (ICAR), Solapur, Maharashtra
proposes to fill up the following temporary and time bound vacant position under the different project on the basis of WALK IN INTERVIEW for the period of six month which may be extendable further depending on availability of fund and satisfactory performance of the candidate.
Name of the project: Response of Pomegranate to Deficit Irrigation and Partial Root Zone Drying
Duration: Up to 31st March 2017
Name of the Post: Senior Research Fellow

Emolument: Rs. 25,000 per month + HRA
Age Limit: 35 years for men and 40 years for
womenEligibility:
- Master’s degree in soil and water conservation engineering or irrigation and water management engineering or water resource engineering or irrigation and drainage
engineering or horticulture or fruit science from recognized SAU/ICAR institute with four or five years Bachelor’s degree OR - Master’s degree in soil and water conservation engineering or irrigation and water management engineering or water resource engineering or irrigation and drainage
engineering or horticulture or fruit science from recognized SAU/ICAR institute with three years Bachelor’s degree in Basic Sciences with NET qualification - Knowledge of computer, experience in the field of horticulture, crop water requirement, micro-irrigation system or GIS software is desirable
Job Requirements:
- Should be fluent in English
- Conducting and monitoring of experiments, data collection, compilation and statistical
analysis, preparation of documents on computer.
Name of the project: Outreach Programme on Management of Sucking Pest in Horticultural Crops

Eligibility:
- Master’s degree in Agricultural Entomology, Zoology or Life Science from recognized SAU / ICAR institute with 4/5 years Bachelor’s degree OR
- Master’s degree in Agricultural Entomology, Zoology or Life Science from recognized SAU / ICAR institute with 3 years Bachelor’s degree in Basic Sciences and should have NET qualification
- Relevant research experience as evidenced from fellowship or associateship or training or other engagements is desirable.
- Knowledge of computers, good communication and writing skills is preferable.

- Handling of insects.
- Conducting and monitoring of experiments, data collection, compilation and statistical

Duration: Up to 31st March 2017
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women
Eligibility:
- M. Sc. in Plant Pathology or Agriculture or Botany or Life Science with specialization in
Plant Pathology or equivalent degree in relevant field from recognized university or institute
with 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point, with at least two years of experience is essential - Relevant research experience as evidenced from fellowship or associateship or training or other engagements is desirable.
- Knowledge of computers, good communication and writing skills is preferable.
Terms and Conditions:
- The above position is purely on temporary basis and is co-terminus with the scheme. There is no provision for re-employment after termination of project. Selected candidates can be discontinued owing to administrative reasons at any time by issue of one month’s notice or one month’s emoluments in lieu thereof. They may also leave the assignment on their own violation, by giving one month’s notice.
- Above age limit is relaxable to SC/ST/OBC as per Govt. of India rules.
- No TA, DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- No objection certificate from his employer and experience certificate in original should be
produced at the time of interview. - Canvassing in any form will lead to cancellation of candidature.
- The decision of Director, ICAR-NRCP, would be final and binding in all aspects
