About the Fellowship
The fellowship has been established under a Memorandum of Understanding between JNCASR and YRGCARE to promote high-quality research in infectious diseases and related areas. The selected candidate will be designated as an Assistant Professor and is expected to teach and establish an independent research laboratory at JNCASR.

Eligibility
Preferably women candidates, holding a PhD or an equivalent degree (MD/MS/DM/MCh/MPH with relevant postdoctoral experience), having demonstrated research excellence in infectious diseases, immunology, or related biological sciences, with up to 3–4 years of postdoctoral experience, and showing evidence of strong publication record and potential for independent research.
Research Environment and Facilities
JNCASR will provide laboratory space/office space/access to central facilities, basic infrastructure, and consumables, as per norms. The fellowship will be awarded and funded by YRGCARE. The candidate will be posted at JNCASR and will follow JNCASR norms and policies. Preference will be given to applicants whose research interests complement and provide a new dimension to the Centre’s current research and academic activities. Selected candidates will carry out independent research and teach students in M.Sc, Integrated Ph.D. and Ph.D. Programs.
Selection Process
Short-listed candidates will be further considered based on research seminar(s), pedagogic lecture(s) and interactions with faculty members of the Centre, preferably in-person, followed by an interview by a search and selection committee.
Allowance
- The amount of the Fellowship will be Rs. 1,35,000/- per month (consolidated including HRA).
- In addition, each Fellow will receive a research grant of Rs.7.00 lakh per annum (for consumables, travel, research personnel & contingencies etc.) and Rs.60,000/- per annum as overhead charges.
- Equivalent to the entry-level Ramanujan Fellowship of the ANRF, Government of India (Visit: ANRF Ramanujan Fellowship)

- A two-page research plan.
- A statement of teaching interests that details what courses you would love to teach, any prior teaching experience, and other relevant information.
- Names and email addresses of at least three referees who are familiar with your work and will be willing to write reference letters.
