About the Organisation
The Centre for Stem Cell Research (CSCR), a unit of inStem Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology (Government of India) and the Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on a DBT–Wellcome Trust India Alliance funded project in the area of stem cell and regenerative biology.

Project Title
Functional Assessment of Genetic Variants Associated with Fetal Hemoglobin Levels Using Base Editor Mediated Saturated Mutagenesis for the Treatment of Beta-Hemoglobinopathies
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the DBT–Wellcome Trust India Alliance funded research project in the area of stem cell and regenerative biology.
- Support research activities related to the functional assessment of genetic variants associated with fetal hemoglobin levels.
- Participate in project work involving base editor mediated saturated mutagenesis for the treatment of beta-hemoglobinopathies.
- Perform assigned research activities under the guidance of the project investigators.
Educational Qualification
Candidates should possess any one of the following qualifications:
- B.Tech. in Life Sciences
- M.Tech. in Life Sciences
- M.Sc. in Life Sciences
Candidates qualified through NET or GATE are eligible to receive fellowship as per project norms.
Preferred Qualification
Preference will be given to candidates holding any of the following fellowships:
- CSIR Junior Research Fellowship
- UGC Junior Research Fellowship
- DBT Junior Research Fellowship
- ICMR Junior Research Fellowship
Fellowship
For NET/GATE Qualified Candidates
- Fellowship: ₹31,000 per month
- HRA (8%): ₹2,480 per month
- Total: ₹33,480 per month
For Candidates Without NET/GATE Qualification
- Fellowship: ₹25,000 per month
- HRA (8%): ₹2,000 per month
- Total: ₹27,000 per month
Accommodation: Accommodation will not be provided.
