Eligibility Criteria

  • Students currently enrolled in B.Sc., B.E. / B.Tech, B.S. M.S., Integrated M.Sc., M.Sc., or equivalent degree programmes from Northeast India are eligible.
  • Applicants must be domiciles of one of the seven North-East states and willing to commit 8 weeks per year for research.

Fellowship Support

Fellows receive a fellowship of ₹20,000 upon completion, ₹5,000 annual travel support, and up to ₹10,000 additional support for JNCASR collaboration. Up to 10 students are selected each year based on merit and statement of purpose.

Programme Structure & Selection

  • Selected students undertake an 8-week research internship under the guidance of faculty mentors from institutions in the Northeast.
  • Projects may be conducted solely in the mentor’s laboratory in the Northeast or in collaboration with JNCASR, Bengaluru.
  • Faculty mentors provide mentorship for 8 weeks, offer exposure to various research disciplines, and facilitate accommodation support.
  • Selection of up to 10 students is based on merit, statement of purpose, and availability of mentors.
