Role Overview
Applications are invited for the position of Research Associate-I under a Gates Foundation-funded project. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Mukesh Kumar Meena (Scientist-III) and contribute to advanced research in gene editing and plant resilience.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must:
- Hold a Ph.D. degree in any branch of Biological/Life Sciences
- Fulfill the guidelines as per DST Office Memorandum (DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26/03/2023)
- Have research experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Plant–insect interaction
- CRISPR-based genome editing
- Plant transformation
- Candidates with prior experience in chickpea research will be given preference
Desirable Skills
- Experience in RNA-Seq
- Confocal microscopy
- Proteomics techniques
Appointment Details
- The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project
- Initial appointment will be for one year
- Extension or curtailment will be based on performance and institutional discretion
- The appointment may be terminated by either party with one month’s notice
- The position does not guarantee consideration for any permanent role at NIPGR
- Reservation policies will be followed as per Government of India norms
