1. Project 1
- Project Title: Deciphering metabolome-microbiome interactions.
- PI: Prof. Palok Aich ([email protected])
- Expertise Required: Prior expertise in one or more of the following: Data-science/AI-ML/LC-MS/MS/Metagenomics/NGS.
2. Project 2
- Project Title: Understanding the cellular homeostasis in lower vs higher plants.
- PI:Dr. Kishore CS Panigrahi ([email protected])
3. Project 3
- Project Title: Interaction between GABA- and neuropeptidergic systems in the brain and its relevance in energy balance.
- PI:Dr. Praful Singru ([email protected])
- Expertise Required: Experience in animal handling, neuroscience, neuronal tracing, behavioral analysis, microscopy, and image analysis.
4. Project 4
- Project Title: Manipulation of tomato genome for enhanced fruit pigmentation associated with stress resilience.
- PI: Dr. K Himabindu Vasuki ([email protected])
- Expertise Required: Good publication record in peer-reviewed journals, expertise in cloning, generation of stable lines through CRISPR-Cas9, transient transformation, metabolic engineering in E. coli and tomato. Experience in growing and handling tomato plants in the greenhouse is highly valued. The ideal candidate should have good communication and writing skills.
5. Project 5
- Project Title: Understanding host-gut microbiome interaction in insects from an ecological perspective.

- Expertise Required: Microbiology, environmental microbiology, NGS, bioinformatics, theoretical ecology.
6. Project 6
- Project Title: Mining Environmental Phageomes to Discover Inhibitors of Bacterial Defense Systems.
- PI: Dr. Tridib Mahata ([email protected])
- Expertise Required: Prior experience in Microbiology and Molecular biology.
Qualification
A PhD degree in a relevant field is required. Additionally, specific expertise (if mentioned above) will be required.
Fellowship
As per existing rules of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Govt. of India. The positions are purely temporary and will be co-terminated with the non-plan project. The tenure of the appointment will be till 31st March 2027 and may be extended based on performance evaluated by the competent authority.
