- Position Title: Project Assistant
- Research Area: RNA Biology, RNA Modifications, Ribosome Structure, CryoEM
- Location: Bangalore
- PI: Dr. K. Shanmugha Rajan
- Appointment Duration: Initially one year (extendable based on performance)
- Salary: As per IISc norms
Key Responsibilities
- Genetic manipulation of ncRNA
- Modeling of cryoEM structures and structural analysis
- Cell culture (eukaryotic pathogens and mammalian cell lines): culture maintenance, passaging, and experimental setup
- PCR methods: primer design support, standard PCR, qPCR, and analysis
- Blotting techniques: SDS-PAGE, Western blot, and Northern blot
- Supporting routine laboratory experiments and data collection
Qualification
- Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences.
- Candidates with a background in Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology are especially encouraged to apply.
