About the Role
Astam Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrochemical Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development, design, and optimization of electrochemical biosensors used in advanced medical diagnostic devices, with a strong focus on glucometers, hematology meters, and enzyme engineering. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize electrochemical biosensors for medical diagnostic devices.
- Conduct research and remain updated on advancements in electrochemical biosensor technologies and related innovations.
- Collaborate with biomedical engineers, chemists, product managers, and cross-functional teams to define project requirements and technical specifications.
- Perform feasibility studies and evaluate materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes for biosensor development.
- Conduct experiments, analyze data, and troubleshoot biosensor systems to improve sensitivity, selectivity, and performance.
- Develop and validate test methods and protocols for biosensor evaluation and verification while ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Work with external research organizations and academic institutions to leverage expertise and accelerate innovation.
- Support the scale-up and transfer of biosensor technologies from R&D to manufacturing.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting assistance, and process improvement recommendations to manufacturing teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation of design specifications, test results, and project progress as per company and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to product innovation strategies.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in electrochemical biosensor development or related research.
- Strong understanding of electrochemical principles and techniques such as:
- Amperometry
- Potentiometry
- Voltammetry
- Knowledge of medical device regulations, quality systems, and design control processes including ISO 13485 and FDA guidelines.
- Experience in experimental design, statistical data analysis, and interpretation.
- Familiarity with biosensor fabrication techniques such as:
- Thin-film deposition
- Microfabrication
- Electrode modification
- Strong understanding of enzyme kinetics, enzymatic reactions, and protein engineering.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, or related programming tools for data analysis and instrument control.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to fast-paced work environments.
