Key Responsibilities
- Work in the ICMR-funded research project on non-invasive diagnostic sweat-sensing patches.
- Participate in developing skin patch devices and electrochemical sensor devices.
- Contribute to scaffold development using electrospinning techniques.
- Assist in developing piezoelectric biomaterials for healthcare applications.
- Work on rat/mouse models of spinal cord injury (Hemisection model), where applicable.
- Support ongoing nanoscience and biomedical research activities at INST Mohali.
Qualifications
- For Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
- PhD in Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Biomedical Device/ Nanotechnology/ Nanoscience.
- OR
- M.Sc./ M.Tech/ M.Pharm with NET/GATE qualified.
- For Project Technical Support-III
- M.Sc./ M.Tech/ M.Pharm in Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Biomedical Device/ Nanotechnology/ Nanoscience.
Experience
Candidates with the following experience will be preferred:
- Experience in developing skin patch devices.
- Experience in developing piezoelectric biomaterials.
- Scaffold development using Electrospinning.
- Experience in electrochemical sensor device development.
- Working experience in developing a rat/mouse model of Spinal Cord Injury (Hemisection model).
Skills Needed
- Knowledge of Biology, Nanotechnology, and Biomedical Devices.
- Research and laboratory handling skills.
- Experience with electrospinning and biomaterial development.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experimental design and sensor development expertise.
- Team collaboration and scientific communication skills.
Fellowship Details
- Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical): INR 56,000 + HRA @ 10% (INR 5,600)
Total: INR 61,600 per month - Project Technical Support-III: INR 28,000 + HRA @ 10% (INR 2,800)
Total: INR 30,800 per month
Duration
Initially, six months, and may be extended based on the performance of the candidate and availability of funds.
Age Limit
Candidates must not be over 35 years as on 25 May 2026. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per the Government of India rules.

General Terms and Conditions
- The position is purely temporary and on a contractual basis.
- The position is co-terminus with the project.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Candidates must bring original documents of age proof, certificates, degrees, mark sheets, and testimonials along with self-attested photocopies at the time of the interview.
