Role Overview
CSIR–Institute of Microbial Technology is inviting applications for the position of Research Associate-I under the “Phenome India – CSIR Health Cohort Knowledge Base” project. The selected candidate will contribute to advanced research activities in microbiology and related domains, supporting national-level health cohort initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in microbiology and allied fields
- Handle microbial cultures including identification, characterization, and preservation
- Perform metagenomics studies and data analysis
- Apply molecular biology techniques such as DNA isolation and PCR
- Contribute to research design, experimentation, and scientific documentation
Essential Qualification
Candidates must possess:
- Ph.D./MD/MS/MDS or an equivalent degree, OR
- M.Tech with at least 3 years of research, teaching, or design & development experience, along with at least one research paper published in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal
Desirable Qualification
- Ph.D. in Microbiology or allied subjects
- Experience in microbial handling, identification, and preservation
- Expertise in metagenomics and data analysis
- Strong knowledge of molecular biology techniques (e.g., DNA isolation, PCR)
- Age Limit
- Maximum age: 35 years
- Age relaxation: SC/ST/PwBD/Women: 5 years, OBC: 3 years
Compensation
Monthly Emoluments: ₹58,000/- + HRA
