Project Title
“Dissecting functional relevance of sorghum MYB032/019 for yield optimization under constrained environmental conditions.”

Role Overview
The Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Project Associate will contribute to a DBT-funded research project focused on plant molecular biology and genetic engineering in sorghum. The role involves laboratory-based research and supports advancements in crop yield optimization under environmental stress conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in plant molecular biology and genetic engineering
- Perform laboratory experiments related to plant sciences and biotechnology
- Support research activities in plant tissue culture and millets
- Assist in data generation, analysis, and documentation
- Contribute to project objectives under supervision
Educational Qualification
- Master’s degree (minimum 60% marks) in:
- Plant Sciences
- Biotechnology
- Life Sciences
- Biochemistry
- Bioinformatics
- Must have CSIR-UGC NET (or equivalent qualification/fellowship) or fulfill DBT/DST guidelines
Desirable Qualifications
- Strong theoretical knowledge of plant genetic engineering
- Experience in plant molecular biology
- Experience in plant tissue culture, especially millets
- Consistently good academic record
Age Limit
Maximum: 28 years
Relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government norms
Emoluments
₹31,000 per month + HRA (as per rules)
