Role Overview

The Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Project Associate will contribute to a DBT-funded research project focused on plant molecular biology and genetic engineering in sorghum. The role involves laboratory-based research and supports advancements in crop yield optimization under environmental stress conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in plant molecular biology and genetic engineering
  • Perform laboratory experiments related to plant sciences and biotechnology
  • Support research activities in plant tissue culture and millets
  • Assist in data generation, analysis, and documentation
  • Contribute to project objectives under supervision

Educational Qualification

  • Master’s degree (minimum 60% marks) in:
    • Plant Sciences
    • Biotechnology
    • Life Sciences
    • Biochemistry
    • Bioinformatics
  • Must have CSIR-UGC NET (or equivalent qualification/fellowship) or fulfill DBT/DST guidelines

Desirable Qualifications

  • Strong theoretical knowledge of plant genetic engineering
  • Experience in plant molecular biology
  • Experience in plant tissue culture, especially millets
  • Consistently good academic record

Age Limit

Maximum: 28 years
Relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government norms

Emoluments

₹31,000 per month + HRA (as per rules)
